Beef stew casserole

So cocooning and comfortable winter food!
First had it in Maidstone so long time ago. 1 kilo Chopped beef meat, tossed in some flour, added to 400gr sliced carrots and 200 gr onions browned in oil, salt, pepper, couple of bay leaves, cup of water, cup and a half of stout, orange zest and 1 orange juice. Cook x 2h and a half.
So good for everyone: British, Irish, Italians... tasty, savoury but sweet and home smells so good!!!!

Beef Stew Casserole

Hi Rosella,
it sounds delicious. Just what's needed when it's getting cold and wet outside.

I think, depending on where you are in England, the same dish comes with different names. I've also seen it made with ale rather than stout. It's still just as nice.

Being Italian, would you use red win in it?

thanks for sharing,
sue
