Christmas in England: What's the Weather like?

Well, we very rarely have a White Christmas, that's for sure. There have only been a handful of years in the 20th century when England had a snowy Christmas.

Mostly, it's chilly - around 0°C - 5°C. Often it's damp. And it usually gets dark around half past three in the afternoon, after getting light around 8am.

That said, I remember a Christmas Day where we took the tandem out for a 25mile ride. It was fairly cold, but dry and gloriously sunny. Just the right weather to be outside.

So, if you're visiting England over Christmas, make sure you bring warm clothes. A raincoat and umbrella won't go amiss, either.
