The English Dinner

Hi!
I am French and I would like to know what is a "classic" dinner in the U.K.
Answer:
The most 'classic' of all English dinners has to be Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding! It's often served on a Sunday, especially if you're having a family dinner. Along with the roast beef and Yorkshire puddings you tend to get crispy roast potatoes, boiled vegetables like carrots and peas and dark gravy. Sometimes, chipolata sausages, wrapped in bacon are served alongside.
But that's not the only classic English dinner. You could also find roast pork and apple sauce, roast chicken or lamb with mint sauce and new potatoes.
Midweek, people in England might have Shepherd's Pie, pasta bake or Fish and Chips with peas. And, of course, a real dinner would not be complete without a really tasty pudding....
Have a look in the recipes section of this site for many different types of dinners and suppers, all of which are fairly traditional.
